Abstract
1381381 Spray carburetters; regulating I C engines FICHTEL & SACHS AG 22 June 1972 [9 July 1971] 29366/72 Heading F1B A speed-regulated air cooled combustion engine has a mixture-forming device, an induction manifold for conveying the mixture to the engine, a control element in the assembly of mixture forming device and manifold, a blower for producing a current of cooling air over the cylinder and a vane which is spring-biased to a position of rest and can be deflected by the air current and is connected by a link to the control element, the vane being mounted on that side of a reference plane containing the cylinder axis, and perpendicular to the induction manifold axis, which faces towards the mixture forming device. The vane 38 is carried by a shaft 39 mounted in lugs 40 and 42 and the lower end of which is bent at right-angles to form an arm 44 which is bifurcated to engage the upper end 48 of a cranked throttle valve shaft 50. A tension spring 53 biases the vane to rest against the cooling fins 18 of the cylinder. In a modification, Fig. 5, the vane 138 is mounted at the upper end of a straight shaft which carries the throttle valve. The free end of the vane projects through a shroud 160 around the fins 118 and projects into a recess 176 formed by cutting away the fins.
