Abstract

1381360 Press roller assembly VALMET OY 12 Dec 1972 57185/72 Heading F4G Paper web 8 passes between two dewatering rollers 2a, 2b with cavities or grooves in their surfaces and overlying felt belts 1a, 1b before passing through nips comprising a plain pressing roller 2c and successively each of dewatering rollers 2b, 2d and a plain pressing roller 2e. Alternatively (Fig. 2, not shown), the web, after passing between rollers 2c and 2d may pass through nips comprising roller 2c and another dewatering roller (2f) and an upper plain roller (3b) and a lower dewatering roller (3a). Suction may be applied to roller 2a.
