Abstract

1284119 Dewatering webs KARLSTADS MEKANISKA WERKSTAD AB 16 Sept 1969 [17 Sept 1968] 45483/69 Heading D2A A wet paper web B is passed through the nip 11 of two press rolls 7 and 9 each enclosed in endless felt loops 1 and 3, one of the press rolls having a stationary suction zone 15 immediately or shortly after the nip which serves to keep the web 13 in contact with the drier loop 3. A guide roll 21 situated inside the wetter loop 1 can be adjusted to two positions A or B: at position A it guides the two loops and the intermediate web over the suction zone 15, to bring the web into contact with the drier loop 3, whereas at position B it guides the wetter loop 1 away from the web before the suction zone.
