Abstract

1381266 Hydraulic systems DUNLOP Ltd 17 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 17080/71 Heading F1P The movements of two aircraft air-brake flaps 41, 42 by rams 43, 44 are synchronized by a valve 45 which has two coaxial rotary shafts 15, 16 that are respectively connected to one of the two flaps and respectively carry a cam follower 35 and a cam slot 50. When relative movement takes place between shafts 15, 16 due to unsynchronized movement of the flaps the cam slot and follower cause axial movement of a valve spool (25) to adjust the fluid-flow to the rams to bring the flaps back into synchronism. The spool (25) is connected by transverse pins 21, 37 to the inner shaft 16, the latter pin 37 being axially movable in an end slot of the shaft 16. A selector valve 46 controls the flow to and from the rams and flow takes place through valve 45 via a common supply and return passage 65 oppositely acting check valves 5, 9 and passages 59, 61 which are respectively connected to the rams.
