Abstract
1381248 Candy pulling machines SAS GIOVANNI RUFFINATTI & C 9 April 1973 [22 Dec 1972] 16975/73 Heading A2B A candy pulling machine has a first pin 23 projecting upwardly from a table 2 for supporting the candy to be worked, two second pins 48, 52 projecting downwardly from cranked arms 47, 51 pivoted about shafts (44, 50), Fig. 2 (not shown), the distance between the shafts being shorter than the length of the arms so that the pins 48, 52 are rotatable eccentrically about the axis of the pin 23 in overlapping horizontal circular paths. The head 10 is movable vertically and can be lowered to an operative position so that the protective covering 54, 55, 56 attached thereto surrounds the candy on the table 2, or raised to allow loading and unloading. The pin 23 is vertically movable and is connected to a column 8 forming part of the head moving mechanism so that when the head is raised the pin is lowered to a retracted position in which its end is at or below the level of the table, and when the head is lowered the pin is raised to project above the upper face of the table. A control circuit is arranged to prevent operation of a motor 39, which rotates the pins 48, 52, unless the head is lowered. A reversible motor 19 raises and lowers the head 10 and pin 23 and is controlled by microswitches 36, 37. In the operating position the lower ends of the pins 48, 52 are about 2mm above the table.
