Abstract

1380845 Washing prints on cellulose/polyester mixtures BAYER AG 22 June 1973 [24 June 1972] 29783/73 Heading D1B Cellulose/polyester mixed textile material which has been printed with reactive and disperse dyes is rinsed at above 90‹C with an aqueous wash liquor having a pH of above 12. Preferably the material is treated first with wash liquor at 40‹ to 50‹C, then at 90‹ to 100‹C and finally at 40‹ to 50‹C followed by rinsing and neutralisation. Surface active agents are used in the washing process and disperse dyes having a carboxylic acid ester and/or sulphonic acid ester group which can be saponified off during the washing process may be used. The prints have improved white backgrounds as a result of the washing.
