Abstract

1380624 Packaging rows of articles MODO CONSUMER PRODUCTS Ltd 10 April 1973 [11 May 1972] 22206/72 Heading B8C Articles arranged in a plurality of rows are fed towards a packaging zone where means is provided to detect a predetermined number of articles which are then displaced in a direction substantially transversely of the rows and fed into a bag. As shown, articles, e.g. toilet rolls, in three rows of two, are fed by a conveyer 10 down a slide 16 on to a ram 17 and into engagement with abutments 28A, 28B, 28C having limit switches 29A, 29B, 29C connected in series. When all switches are closed, the ram 17 is actuated to move the rolls 26, 27 upwardly to a position at which further switches (not shown) are closed to actuate a ram 32 which forces the rolls between two "ducks-bills" 36, 37 into a bag 38.
