1380223 Hydraulic control circuits MAROTTA SCIENTIFIC CONTROLS Inc 18 April 1973 18684/73 Heading F1P A power and speed control system for an actuator 10 comprises valves 58, 58' for controlling the supply to and exhaust of fluid from opposite ends of the actuator respectively, the valves being opened by a rocker arm 80 which is turned about a pivot 82 by one or other of a pair of solenoids 86, 88. The valve elements 58, 58', which control supply of fluid to the actuator, are flow-responsive. This effect is produced by a restricted orifice 74, which produces a pressure dish as fluid flows from a duct 24, past a seat 52 and through orifice 74 to duct 16p, and a flange 150 on the valve element 58. The flange 150 is acted on at its underside by the high-pressure produced by the orifice 74 in the chamber 41 and on its upper side by the lower pressure in the duct 16p. Thus, to increase the flow, the force exerted by one or other of the solenoids 86, 88 must be increased. This is done by a potentiometer 126. A manuel over-ride lever 114 is provided.
