Abstract
1440563 Valves CAV Ltd 21 Aug 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 42272/72 Heading F2V [Also in Divisions Fl and G3] Axial movement of a servomotor piston 14 in a bore 15 is controlled by a pilot valve spool 21 slidably mounted in a bore 17 in the piston, the spool having a land 25 controlling the flow of operating liquid to and from a chamber at the left end of piston 14 via a port 20 and passage 19. Spool 21 is axially slidable under the action of a control pressure supplied to the left of land 26 in opposition to the bias of spring 27. The spool 21 can also be rotated manually through levers (13, 35, Fig. 4, not shown) and an adjustable link (34) connected to lever 33 attached to a member 31 having an extension 30 of semi-circular section, the plane surface of which slidably engages a corresponding surface on an extension 29 of the spool. Since land 25 is axially stepped or is of helicoidal form (Fig. 3, not shown) such rotation causes opening of port 20 and axial adjustment of piston 14.
