Abstract

1380005 Electrostatic printers ZELLWEGER USTER Ltd 11 July 1972 [16 Aug 1971] 32282/72 Heading G2H [Also in Division B6] In order to produce a clear and non-fuzzy image, an electrode arrangement for producing an electrostatic image in an electrostatic printer is moved relatively to the copy sheet, or the carrier therefore, during the actual imaging step. In the apparatus of Fig. 2 the electrode arrangement I is moved away from the copy sheet 10 resting on vacuum plate 9 during the imaging step such movement being produced by electromagnet 18, lever arrangement 17 and spring- loaded mounting block 22. In a modification of this apparatus the block 22 and hence the arrangement 1 is caused to rotate as well as move up or down during imaging. In the printer of Fig. 8 labels 107A temporarily held on a tape 107 are imaged whilst passing in stepwise fashion between the arrangement 1 and the carrier 9 and are developed whilst on a rotating arm 114 the tape being fed to a container 124.
