Abstract

1379706 Chucks; portable drills BLACK & DECKER MFG CO 19 Feb 1973 8097/73 Headings B3B and B3C A portable power operated tool comprises a housing 13, a motor 15, e.g. a pneumatic rotary vane motor, and control means 14, 29 therefor an operating member 33 for controlling the control means, a collet 59 drivable by the motor 15 and biased by springs 63 to grip a tool bit 66, the operating member 33 having a normal position in which the control means 29, 14 is not actuated and being movable in a first direction to actuate the control means and being movable in a second and different direction to actuate means counteracting the biasing springs 63 to release the grip of the collet 59. The operating member, e.g. a lever 33, includes a projection 37 for operating a throttle valve 29 when moved in the first direction, and a cam 85 for moving a pin 81 and lever 83 when moved in the second direction.
