Abstract

1333149 Work clamps WILTON CORP (J Rogers) 25 Feb 1972 [25 Feb 1971] 5437/71 Heading B3B A workholding device comprises a housing 10 having an opening 18 therein, a link member 22 pivotally mounted in said housing adjacent said opening, a gripping member 17 mounted in said member for linear sliding movement relative thereto for projecting an end portion 20 through said opening, a first actuating means 39 operable to linearly move the gripping member, and a second actuating means 29 operable to pivot said link member to angularly move the gripping member. The first and second actuating means are operated by fluid pressure and are supplied with pressure fluid simultaneously. By choosing a stiff spring 35 in the second actuating means, sliding movement of the gripping member, before the angular movement, is ensured.
