Abstract

137,959. Bundy, F. W., and Bey, H. March 24, 1919. Coated boxes; ornamenting boxes.-The enamel is removed where desired from enamelled metal articles, such as cash and deed boxes, by the application of a sand blest or other suitable means, and a coating of copper, nickel, brass, or other metal is applied electrolytically to the cleaned surfaces. In some cases, a coating of copper is first deposited, this is covered with lead, tin, or alloys thereof, applied in the molten state, and a further layer of metal is electro-deposited on the surface. The applied coating may be finished by engraving, bronzing, or other processes.
