Abstract

1379480 Condensers for removing water vapour from air BEGES AG 27 March 1972 [27 March 1971] 14271/72 Heading BIB Moisture-laden air from the drying compartment of a washing machine or drier is supplied through inlet 3 to a chamber 2 which contains a textile fibre curtain 7 supplied at the top with cooling water from spray tube 5; and as the air flows past the curtain the watervapour condenses thereon. The dehumidified air is removed from the chamber through outlet 4, and may be heated and returned to the drying compartment. The mixture of cooling water and condensate, which collects at the base of the chamber, is withdrawn through outlet 9. In the embodiment shown, the upper part of. the textile curtain is wrapped round the spray tube 5. The condenser may be provided with a plurality of textile curtains.
