Abstract

1379345 Drying drums C H HEISE 4 June 1973 [8 June 1972] 26517/73 Heading F4G Drying apparatus for drying and heating stone material for the preparation of bituminous building materials, comprises rotatable drum having an inlet 4 and outlet 5 for the material, burners 6 and small projections 7 being arranged along the interior of the drum at one end thereof, and larger projections 8 being arranged at the other end and extending further into the drum interior than the small projections. The burners 6 and smaller projections 7 extend alternately along half the length of the drum and the burners may be additionally provided on the end wall of the drum. Each burner is inclined at angle of 45 degrees to a tangent to the drum at its junction with the drum. Separate outlets may be provided for the air and combustible gases.
