1379287 Bubble blowing toys HOT ITEMS Inc 14 Dec 1972 [27 April 1972] 57866/72 Heading A6S Squeezing the compressible container 10 of a bubble blowing toy containing bubble forming liquid 12 forces a piston 24, Fig. 2, up its cylinder 22, Fig. 3, so that a bubble forming ring 26 coated with a film of the liquid in a well 20 is raised above the neck of the container ready for bubble blowing, and simultaneously forces liquid at the bottom of the container up a dip tube 34 into the well. A baffle 36 above the dip tube 34 deflects liquid down into the well 20. Interengageable ridges 38, 40 inside the cylinder 22 and around the piston 40 prevent the latter lying beyond the Fig. 3 position shown. The container 10 and other parts are made from a plastics. The well 20 is a friction fit in the neck of the container, and the dip tube 34 is a friction fit in a hole through the bottom of the well. The bubble forming ring 26 comprises two ring-shaped parts connected by a flexible hinge 58 at one side but spaced slightly apart by pips 62, to leave a narrow, liquid retaining gap 64. A two-part stud at the base of the bubble blowing ring 26 is a friction fit within a hole 44 in the base of the piston 24. A series of ridges (66), Fig. 7 (not shown), around the ring. 26 help to retain bubble forming liquid. A cap 16 is screwed onto the neck of the container 10 when the ring 26 is down in the well :20. In a modification, Fig. 11 (not shown), the bubble forming ring has three bubble openings (82), instead of one, and its mounting stud is arrow shaped to snap into an opening in the piston.
