Abstract

1379206 Conveying pallets on endless chains KODAK Ltd 16 Dec 1971 [22 Dec 1970] 60800/70 Heading B8A Pallets 24 for conveying workpieces (not shown) between work stations (not shown), rest on low friction support surfaces 22 carried by the joint pins 35 of parallel runs of conveyer chains 20, 20. Each chain runs in a respective channel, the upper edges of the outermost walls of which, guide the pallets along the straight runs of the conveyer. On the curved sections (Fig. 4), the pallets are guided by rollers 27, 27 (mounted on the pallet), which engage a further channel 30. The surfaces 22 are provided by plastic members 37 which are a push fit on ribbed sleeves 36 carried by respective extension pins 35 of the chains 20, 20. The plastic may have a molybdenum disulphide filler. The chains are driven and tensioned by a jockey wheel arrangement (Fig. 2, not shown) in a housing 14.
