Abstract
1379169 Ceramic materials; wollastonites CIMENTS LAFARGE 1 March 1972 [1 March 1971] 9482/72 Addition to 1281589 Headings C1A and C1J A compact ceramic material is obtained by heating at 750‹ to 1150‹ C. under a pressure of 0À01 to 3000 bars, a calcium monosilicate produced by the method disclosed in Specification 1,281,589 and having a SiO 2 to CaO weight ratio 1 to 2À5, and a vitreous phase content of from 80 to 100% by weight up to 15% Al 2 O 3 , up to 3% Fe 2 O 3 , up to 5% MgO, and up to 6% K 2 O and Na 2 O may be included, percentages by weight. A final thermal treatment between 1150 and 1200‹ C. may be performed to convert #-wollastonite to α-wollastonite.
