Abstract

1379086 Clamp DAIMLER-BENZ AG 5 Oct 1972 [13 Oct 1971] 45995/72 Heading E2B [Also in Division H1] A battery 12, Fig. 1, provided with clamping surfaces 20, is retained in a battery support 10 of a vehicle by a clamping portion 22 on a wall 14 of the support 10 and by a clamp 23, Fig. 4, having an end 24 provided with a convex contact surface 25 and an end 26 formed with a protrusion 27 for engagement with an extension of a wall 13 of the support 10. The clamp 23 has slots 28, 29, Figs. 2 and 3, formed therein through which passes a respective bolt 32 or 33, each bolt being fixed to the wall 13 and being provided with a nut 35 to effect clamping. Each slot 28 and 29 has stop surfaces 36, 37 for the clamping and releasing positions respectively of the clamp 23, a guide surface 38 and a blocking surface 39 which is located opposite to the stop surface 37 and blocks the movement of the clamp 23 out of the releasing position 30, Fig. 2, in the direction towards the battery 12. Thus the battery can be removed as shown in Fig. 1, the clamp 23 and the nuts 35 being retained on the bolts.
