Abstract

1378687 Microwave ovens MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 21 Feb 1972 [16 March 1971] 7923/72 Heading H5H Opening of a mirowave oven door 52 causes a deflector device 74 to divert energy from the feed wave-guide 24 away from the oven cavity through slots 76, 78, where it is absorbed by termination means 118 comprising two blocks 120, 122, of silicon carbide. Opening of the door causes a pivoted metal plate or blade 82 of device 74 to insert arcuate strip portions 86, 88, into the waveguide 24, Fig. 4 (not shown), via a mechanical linkage 106, which also actuates a microswitch 114 in the magnetron energizing circuit.
