Abstract
1377931 Borehole logging COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE and ENTREPRISE DE RECHERCHES ET D'ACTIVITES PETROLIERES (ELF) 2 Jan 1973 [21 Jan 1972(2)] 212/73 Heading G1A [Also in Division G4] A burst of pulses from back scattered radiation is prepared for amplitude analysis by routing the pulses into respective buffer stores and reading them out at a rate slow enough for the analyser to cope. In Fig. 2, each pulse is detected at 22 and switches P 1 -P 7 (which may be f.e.t.s.) closed in sequence to route the pulses, delayed at 6, to respective capacitors C 1 -C 7 . Switches P' 1 -P' 7 are then closed in sequence and the charges stored on C 1 -C 7 individually and successively integrated at 30 to avoid errors due to variations in the values of the storage capacitors C 1 -C 7 . The integrated signals are then converted at 102, Fig. 5, to pulse width signals which are timed by clock pulses from 103, counted at 106. The contents of counter 106 are read-out in parallel or series and transmitted to the analyzer. Source I may comprise a pulsed neutron generator and back scatter detector for borehole logging petroleum reservoirs.
