Abstract

1377791 Jointing WESTOOL Ltd 10 Nov 1972 [16 Feb 1972] 7133/72 Heading B3V [Also in Division H1] A frame or housing for electrical apparatus, e.g. a solenoid, is fabricated from metal strip 1 formed rectangularly so that opposed ends meet in butt joint and have interengaging projections 1a and recesses 1b, and edges contact along line 2-2 with cutaways 1c defining a circular aperture for a bush 3 retaining the joint in position. The bush may be replaced by a stud, rivet or screw, the aperture may be otherwise shaped, and the frame may be constructed of plural elements. A solenoid having coil 5 and axial plunger 6 secured to rod 7 traversing the bush is fitted within the frame.
