1377710 Preparation of 1,3,3-trialkyl-2- methylene indolines and derivatives thereof FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 26 Oct 1972 [30 Oct 1971] 49399/72 Heading C2C A compound of formula wherein each of R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , which may be the same or different represents a (C 1-4 )alkyl radical, and A represents an aromatic radical is prepared by alkylating with an alkylating agent (e.g. dimethyl sulphate, diethyl sulphate; methyl, ethyl or propyl ester of benzene sulphoric acid or of p-toluenesulphonic acid) a compound of formula wherein each of R 1 , R 2 and A is defined as above, in the presence of a basic reagent.
