1376739 Cords CONSO ENG CO 4 Nov 1971 [22 Feb 1971] 5l337/71 Headin D1T A cord suitable for use as a welt-cord for upholstery comprises an inextensible flexible core 6 consisting of a plurality of contiguous filaments arranged to form a closed bundle, the bundle being embedded in and adhered to a surrounding body of extruded cellular synthetic resin material 5 which is radially yieldable and which does not penetrate the bundle. The core 6 may be a multiplicity of glass filaments and the resin may be polyethylene. The cord may be encased in a fold of fabric 9 sewn together at 12 about the cord. - The ratio of the outside diameter of the material 5 to the diameter of the core 6 is between 19:1 and 25:1.
