Abstract

The furniture is made up of four units, a rectangular base (1) two smaller rectangular units (2) and (3) and a trapezoidal section unit (4). Each unit is made of foamed rubber or plastic with a suitable outer covering. The unit (2) is attached to the unit (1) by the flexible seam (5) and the unit (3) is attached by the seam (6). The unit (4) is attached to the unit (3) by the seam (7) and when the units are arranged to form a chair the unit (4) is secured to the unit (2) by the sliding clasp fastener (8). When this fastener (8) is released the units (2-4) are swung outwards and downwards as indicated by the arrows (a, b, c) to form a couch.
