Abstract

1376567 Delivering cigarettes in orderly arrangement AMF Inc 15 Feb 1973 [24 Feb 1972] 7605/73 Heading A2C Cigarettes continuously fed in the direction of their axes one after the other are transferred to, and held by suction in, flutes on the periphery of a rotating receiving drum on which they are transported in a direction transverse to their axes, with one pair of axially spaced cigarettes in each flute, the transfer being effected by a device which comprises; an endless transferring support provided with suction operated carrier elements for picking up the axially fed cigarettes and depositing them into the flutes of the receiving drum. The transfer drum may comprise two synchronously driven endless belts, each carrying cradles connected to suction over the cigarette carrying part of their travel.
