1376347 Feeding crabs O JOHNSEN 23 Feb 1972 [24 Feb 1971] 8234/72 Heading A1A [Also in Division B1] Crabs after being captured are kept in seawater to which additional salt has been added and/or are given fodder to which salt has been added. This improves respectively the consistency of the flesh and the filling of the crabs with flesh. A dosage apparatus for the salting of seawater in a basin 10 in which the crabs are kept comprises a salt container 6 fed by a hopper 5 and separated by non-return valves 4, 7 from a container 2 for fresh sea-water and from a conduit 8 which carries the main portion of the sea-water flow. Fresh sea-water is supplied by means of a pump to the conduit 1. The basin 10 is provided with tapping devices for the old sea water.
