Abstract

1375877 Laminated glass fibre-foam panels DAWNPRESS Ltd 20 March 1973 [4 April 1972] 15320/72 Heading B5N Load bearing materials are made by assembling foam sheets a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP> ... with glass fibre-resin sheets b<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>2</SP>..., allowing the resin to set, cutting the product, to form slices c<SP>1</SP>, c<SP>2</SP> ..., assembling the slices with glass fibre-resin sheets d<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>2</SP> ... and allowing the resin to set, whereby filled compartments 10 are formed. Panels are made from such material by assembling a core slice/formed by cutting along plates e<SP>1</SP>, e<SP>2</SP> ... between glass fibre-resin skins which may include a decorative rayon tissue or have mounted thereon an outer polypropylene sheet; the skins may be moulded on a release covered sheet. The glass fibre may be in mat form, the foam may be polyurethane or polyvinyl chloride, and the resin may be epoxy or polyester. Specified applications are foundations, storage tanks, food containers, cold room or vehicle flooring and wall supports.
