Abstract

1375816 Thermal regenerators FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 31 May 1973 [19 June 1972] 26100/73 Heading F4K In a gas turbine engine housing 10 closed at its upper end by a cover member 60 and sealing gasket 66 and incorporating a rotary regenerator 30 driven by annular ring gear 74, the peripheral portion of the regenerator core on the low-pressure exhaust gas side of the housing is located within an arcuate shaped enclosure 44 bounded by upper and lower sealing surfaces 46 and 36 formed as ledges. The ends of a cross-bar 68 which spans the regenerator core 30 are received in recesses 52 and 56 in the upper surface 54 of the housing. Peripheral and crossarm seals 40, 42, 48 are disposed between the core and the various sealing surfaces provided within the housing.
