1375740 Hot-plates F KUPPERSBUSCH & SOHNE AG 26 Oct 1972 [27 Oct 1971] 49511/72 Heading A4D [Also in Division B8] An automatic roaster comprises a heated roasting plate 1 for roasting pieces of meat 25, spaced carriers 3, 3' arranged along the roasting plate, and an automatic turning device 19, the roasting plate and the carriers being arranged for relative reciprocal movement along a path of transport of the pieces of meat, the carriers being arranged to be raised and lowered away from and towards the roasting plate, the arrangement being such as to effect intermittent movement of the pieces of meat along the roasting plate. The roasting plate has a heating device 2, shown in two parts, and rests on an undercarriage 14 having wheels 15. An hydraulic drive 18 having a piston rod 17 reciprocates the roasting plate. The carriers 3, 3' are vertically displaceable in guide sleeves 9, (9'), Fig.10 (not shown) mounted on a carrier frame 6. The end carrier 3 is located under tension by a spring element (11) Fig.10 (not shown). The carrier frame is raised and lowered by an eccentric disc 24 or an hydraulic drive element operating through a push-rod 23. The turning device comprises two turning plates 21, 21' pivoted on a shaft 20. A distance piece 26 prevents pieces of meat sliding towards the shaft 20. In use the pieces of meat are transported along the roasting plate by locating the carriers on the surface of the roasting plate and moving the roasting plate to the left, as viewed. The carriers are then raised and the roasting plate is moved to the right. Pieces of meat transported on to the turning plate 21 are turned over between the plates 21 and 21' on to the turning plate 21'. The end 4 of the roasting plate forms an upward slope and an inclined shoot. A container 5 is provided for collecting the pieces of meat.
