Monuments.-Gravestones adapted to be fixed upright are cast in reinforced concrete so as to admit of stone, metal, or other insets or attachments being readily fixed thereto for bearing names or inscriptions. Fig. 1 shows a stone in the form of a cross A grouted into a pedestal B. The cross is reinforced with longitudinal and transverse rods, and a recess 1 for a name or like plate is provided. The pedestal is also reinforced with rods. In other forms, the separate pedestal is dispensed with. and the lower extremitv of the cross is expanded or may be provided with flattened lateral projections.
