1375614 Cooking and dispensing food products A MASCRET 13 Nov 1972 [12 Nov 1971 1 June 1972] 52350/72 Headings A4D and D7 In apparatus cooking and dispensing measured amounts of hot food, e.g. chips, motor 24 in response to a coin turns helices 17, 18 to move uncooked food into measuring recess 28 which tips it into shoot 21, hopper 5 and sector S of perforated cooking basket 2 in its intermediate dotted line position. The cylindrical basket 2 is carried by the hopper which is pivotally moved by a motor at 6 while the partitions 8 are freely rotatable about pivot 9 against a pawl. The hopper and basket are lowered by reciprocating motor at pivot 6 until immersed in cooking oil in tank 1 and sprung pivotal abutment 11 enters the basket via slot 15 to rotate partitions 8 through one sector so that food in sector S moves down into the oil while fully cooked food in sector S' moves into the previous position of sector S. The hopper and basket are moved up to the full line position and a crank 41 acting in channel 38 shifts a frame 33 surrounding a guide 31 for stacked lipped containers 30, so that ridge 36 releases the lowest lip and off-set wedge 35 enters between the lowest two lips to separate the lowest container and support the stack. The food then falls out of basket sector S', via hopper 5 into container 30 released at the dispensing point 32. Basket 2 is then ready to re-immerse the food partly cooked in other basket sectors and to receive the next uncooked portion of food.
