Abstract

1374898 Tables adapted to be clamped to articles M KIDD 29 March 1972 [29 March 1971] 14893/72 Heading A4H A tray adapted to be detachably clamped on a person's lap or a chair arm has an anchor rod 17 fixed to the bottom surface 6 of the tray, anchor brackets 26 slideably disposed on said rod and including bearing lugs 29, and respective clamp members 41, 41a pivotally mounted on said lugs 29 by pins 31, said clamp members being biased towards one another in a clamping direction by respective coil springs 33. The anchor rod 17 passes through apertured lugs (27), Fig. 5, (not shown) in the brackets 26 and is locked in position by grooved saddle pads 12 provided with complementary keepers 18 and end flanges 8. One end 34 of each spring 33 is anchored in a boss 36 of bracket 26 and the other end 37 resiliently abuts a web 39 of the clamp member. Corner legs 9 are provided to facilitate stacking.
