Abstract

1373716 Land drainage pipe C RIPKEN 21 Jan 1972 [21 Jan 1971] 2899/72 Heading B1D [Also in Division F2] A perforate land drainage pipe 4 is enclosed by an inner permanent filter layer 3 and an outer filter layer 2 which initially traps the silt but subsequently decomposes after the surrounding soil has settled so as to allow free access of water to layer 3. Layer 3 may be peat, acrylic fibres, coco-nut fibres or brokencelled expanded polystyrene. Layer 2 may be a textile fabric of celulose, wool, jute or sisal.
