Abstract

1373643 Turn button fasteners WINDSHIELDS OF WORCESTER Ltd 4 Feb 1972 [13 April 1971] 9175/71 Heading E2A In a turnbutton fastener assembly, an arm 12, for displacing a stop member 24 relative to a mounting extends from a hub 11 pivotally carried by the mounting end has pivoted thereon a lever 13 biassed to engage a detent 23 of the mounting to restrain the arm from moving relative to the mounting. The lever 13 is in a recess 20 in the arm 12 and is spring biassed 25 to engage its end 23 in the detent 23 in a boss 16 on the U-shaped mounting 14 which fits into a window frame. The hub 11, arm 12 and stop member 24 are pivoted on a spindle 17 by a pin 19 engaging a groove 18 in the spindle. The stop member 24 is formed on the hub 11 as shown or on the outer end of the arm 12. The mounting may be bonded to the window or be held by a threaded part passing through the window. The hub 11 may provide the spindle, the stop member 24 being mounted on or actuated by the spindle. In the release position for the stop member 24, Fig. 2 not shown, the lever end 23 is spring biassed against the periphery, serrations, or a further detent of the mounting.
