Abstract

1373523 Digital measurement of length NIPPON KOKAN KK 18 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 53716/71 Heading G4H To measure the length of a length of tubing clock pulses are fed from a generator 2 driven by the tube conveyer 1 to a counter in unit 7 during the period between the leading and trailing edges of the tube passing detector 3. Unit 7 comparing the count of the pulses with a predetermined count and issuing a signal to a relay 8 if the counts do not agree. Relay 8 controls a solenoid valve 6 of a screw conveyer reject mechanism 5 which receives a timing signal from detector 4 upon the approach of the tube to effect reject.
