Abstract
1371752 Ratchet mechanism CUTLERHAMMER WORLD TRADE Inc 11 April 1973 17479/72 Heading F2Q Ratchet mechanism suitable for controlling a switch comprises a ratchet wheel 12 engaged on opposite sides by a pair of slidably and pivotally mounted pawls 22, 24 a C-shaped spring 35 engaging the outer sides of the pawls, separate springs 34 for urging the pawls 22, 24 in a direction tangential to the ratchet wheel 12, and a pair of slidably mounted actuating push levers 44, 46 having portions 48 extending outwardly through an end wall of a casing 14, each lever engaging a respective one of the pawls 22, 24 to permit relative pivoting therebetween and to effect simultaneous sliding motion of the pawl and the associated lever. Each pawl comprises a ratchet hook 38, a notch 43 which accommodates a tooth of the ratchet wheel, and sloping surfaces 45 which effect a locking action.
