Abstract
137,152. Clifford, A. Feb. 15, 1919. Stud-and-slot fastenings.-In a fastening for purses &c. of the type in which a notched stud on the flap enters an aperture in a casing on the purse and is engaged by a sliding catch, the catch c is housed within a recessed part b<2> of the back-plate b and is provided with bent-up edges c<2>, which space it from the back-plate and keep it in position. The catch is actuated by a flat spring f, one end of which is engaged with a stuck-up portion c' of the catch, the other end bearing against the casing. In the modified form shown in Fig. 6, a double-coil flat spring f is employed, the crosspiece f<1> bearing against the bent-up edges c<2> of the catch, and the coils being outside the catch housing and held by the ends f<2> engaging slots in the back-plate.
