1370930 Cutting dies; band saw blades SANDVIK AB 7 Dec 1971 [9 Dec 1970] 56772/71 Headings B4B and B5L A hardened, bendable metal strip is formed from a strip 10 of steel having one or more substantially linear transverse zones 11 of higher hardness than the rest of the material, whereby the stiffness of the resulting strip is greater in a transverse direction than in the longitudinal direction, and is also formed with a hardened cutting edge, e.g. for use as a band saw or cutting die strip. Preferably, the strip has a series of hardened zones 11 which extend from each side face of the strip only part-way towards the centre of the thickness of the strip.
