Abstract

1370161 Spray guns O J CALDER 28 Feb 1972 9158/72 Heading B2F [Also in Division F2] A spray gun is provided with an anti-clogging device which comprises a housing 50 containing a tubular member 88 which is normally biased by a spring 104 to be in engagement with a member 84 against the pressure of liquid to be sprayed, the member 88 having an end which passes through a restrictive orifice 77 of a length no greater than 0.125" so that should the orifice 77 be blocked, the increase in pressure overcomes the force of spring 104 and movement of the member 88 in the orifice 77 causes abrasion of blocked material which is subsequently discharged through orifice tip 124, the orifice 77 and/or the end of member 88 being roughened, or fluted as shown to a depth of from .001 to .025 ins. The spray gun is attached to a boom formed of a number of detachable sections, Fig. 1 (not shown).
