Abstract
1370006 Monitoring mass per unit length and thickness of material POLYPASTE H ROLF SPRANGER KG 3 Nov 1971 51057/71 Heading G1N Continuously extruded thermoplastics material 1 is monitored by measuring its mass per unit length, sensed by capacitor 13, 15, and its diameter, sensed by a feeler 11 connected via a lever 9 to a pneumatic measuring device 10. Measuring capacitor 13, 15 and a compensating capacitor 14, 16 for cancelling changes in capacitance due to movement of plate 13 determine the frequency of an oscillator (not shown). The beat frequency between this oscillator and another is converted to a D.C. signal which is combined with a D.C. signal from the pneumatic device 10 and fed to a thyristor to control the delivery device of the material. The positions of capacitor plates 15 and 16 and the position of pneumatic device 10 are adjustable relative to the frame 17.
