1368919 Recording instruments KIENZLE APPARATE GmbH 12 April 1973 [14 April 1972] 17671/73 Heading G1J In a recording instrument such as a tachograph, having an opening lid 1 on the inner face of which a record disc 3 can be supported and rotated in accordance with time, and an interior space closed by a cover 4 through which project styli 6, 7 for movement radially of the disc 3, to indicate whether the instrument has been opened during recording, a marking implement 10 is secured to the cover 4 and is elastically movable in the local direction of movement of the disc 3. As the lid 1 is closed, the implement 10 makes a distinctive mark on the disc 3. In Figs. 1, 2 a stylus 10 is formed by the free end of a spiral spring 9 mounted on a bracket 8 on the rear face of the cover 4. The stylus 10 extends through a slot 5 of the cover 4. When no disc 3 is present, the styli 6, 7, 10 project into a recess 11 of the lid 1. In Fig.4, the marking implement is one arm 14 of a bell-crank lever 12 pivoted to the cover 4. A spring 16 acts on the other arm 15. When the lid 1 is closed, the tip 17 of arm 14 pierces the disc 3. As the disc rotates, the tip 17 is lifted out of the hole, and the lever 12 assumes the position shown in dotted lines, to inscribe a circular line on the disc 3.
