1368719 Change-speed gear ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 10 Aug 1972 [19 Aug 1971] 37366/72 Heading F2D Direct drive, three reduced ratios and one reverse are provided between input a and output b by three sun-ring planet trains 1, 2, 3, connected as shown, trains 1 and 3 being simple planet trains whilst train 2 has intermeshed planets, and all the ring gears preferably have the same number of teeth. An input clutch K1 drives the connected third sun 53 and second carrier C2 in all forward ratios, and a second input clutch K2 drives the connected first and second suns 51, 52, together with the clutch K1 for direct drive, or together with a brake B3 on the third ring H3 for reverse. First, second and third ratios use respectively the brake B3, a brake B2 for the first carrier C1 and a brake B1 for the connected suns 51, 52.
