Abstract

1368624 Multi-container package SMEDLEY HP FOODS Ltd 2 Aug 1972 [7 Aug 1971] 37222/71 Heading B8C A pad 10 of stiff, but foldable sheet material adapted to rest upon the tops of containers, e.g. bottles, in a container pack, is provided with a pair of collars 14 hinged to and extending outwardly of the pad and adapted to fold outwardly of the plane of the pad and embrace containers vertically adjacent the collars on which the pad is adapted to rest, the collars at least partly surrounding diagonally opposite corners of the pad to form outward extensions of substantially looped form hinged to and co-planar with the pad. As shown, in which the containers are assembled in a tray 20 the pad is made from a blank of, e.g. cartonboard, and is provided with protrusions 11, 11a corresponding in number to the tops of containers. In another form, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) one end of each collar is severed from the blank to form a hook. In both arrangements, the assembled containers and pad may be shrink-wrapped.
