Abstract

1368437 Terminal supports MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 22 Nov 1971 [23 Nov 1970] 54229/71 Heading H2E A frame assembly for supporting modular wire-splicing connectors for communications cables, e.g. of the kind described and claimed in Specification 1,316,483, comprises two parallel, spaced, vertical metal panels 12, 13, Fig. 4, on a base 11, each vertical edge of each panel being provided with corresponding arms 14 ... 17. Plastics module support attachments 22, Fig. 1, comprise hollow bodies 23 which are fitted over the arms 14 ... 17, and have upwardly and outwardly facing surfaces 24 on which connector modules 29 are supported, being secured thereon by L-shaped bosses 26. An inner vertical wirerun is defined between the panels, and an outer vertical wire-run is defined between each panel and extensions 25 on support attachments 22. A brace 18 extends across the upper edges of the panels 12, 13, and may carry two jumper-wire supporting channels 19, 20. A cover 33 is provided. In a modification for wall mounting (Fig. 5, not shown), plastics support attachments are dispensed with, a base (51), panels (52, 53), sloping arms (54, 55), and extensions (56) thereof being integrally formed from sheet metal; a cover (58) with a hinged door is provided.
