Abstract

1367156 Endless conveyer belts LAITRAM CORP 15 Nov 1971 52943/71 Heading B8A A conveyer belt is formed of a series of plastic modules 10 interlinked by plastic rods 20. The latter may be retained by circlips 32 (Fig. 1), or the rods may be each of two-part form (Fig. 11A) having interengaging surfaces 36, 36, by which the parts are locked together. The links and rods may be moulded with a mix which includes a bacteriological agent such as tetracycline. The modules may include moulded-in flights 30 (Fig. 5), or side walls (32) (Fig. 6, not shown). The bosses 12 at each end of a module may be in alignment (Fig. 8), or may be staggered (Fig. 7, not shown). The modules may be made by injection moulding or may be extruded. The bosses in the latter case are then machined out. The plastic material of the modules may be polyethylene, polypropylene, or polycarbonate.
