Abstract

1366819 Brake warning devices HANOMAGHENSCHEL FAHRZEUGWERKE GmbH 4 Dec 1972 [6 Dec 1971] 55850/72 Heading F2E A warning device for a twin circuit braking system has switches 3, 31 the contacts 13, 13<SP>1</SP> of which are respectively actuated by actuators 4, 4 of each circuit; like terminals a, b, c of the switches being interconnected, terminals a also being connected to the terminal 12 of a vehicle starter switch 1, terminals b being connected to a warning lamp 6, the latter having connections to a terminal 14 of the starter switch and to the relay coil of a starter motor, and terminals C being connected to brake indicating lamps 5. If, for example, the circuit associated with switch 4 fails contact 13 maintains contact between terminals b, c and current then flows from a battery 7 through starter switch 1, lines 18, 9 to contacts a and then to lamps 5 which are thus lit. Lamp 6 will also glow due to the earthed connection through line 16 with coil 2, thereby indicating a failure in one circuit. On starting the vehicle the contact element of switch 1 connects contacts 11, 14 to light only lamp 6. If the latter fails to light this indicates a failure in the circuit or lamp 6.
