Abstract

1366496 Packaging cigarettes E SERAGNOLI A SERAGNOLI and M C SERAGNOLI [trading as GD SAS DI ENZO SERAGNOLI e ARIOSTO SERAGNOLI] 23 Feb 1973 [29Nov 1971] 55387/71 Heading B8C Packets of cigarettes 19 with recently glued closure flaps are delivered on conveyer 18 to apparatus comprising two columns 20, 21 in which the packets are alternately inserted from the base to form stacks at such a rate that, on removal from the top of the columns, the glue has dried. Box-shaped unit 1 reciprocates horizontally to bring a compartment 3 or 4 alternately into alignment with conveyer 18, the other compartment aligning with column 20 and 21 respectively. Beneath each column are horizontally reciprocating packet retaining flaps 24, 25, and vertically reciprocating pushers 38, 39, the motions of which are synchronized with unit 1 such that flaps open and a packet is pushed up when a packet containing compartment 3 or 4 arrives beneath a column.
