1366201 Spindle bearings A FERRARIO and L FERRARIO 21 April 1972 [23 April 1971] 18764/72 Heading DID [Also in Division F2] A spindle bearing assembly for a textile spinning or twisting machine has a shaft 2 which has a tip or facing 9 of harder material than that of the shaft for engaging in the bearing. The material may be tungsten carbide, or alumina or a sintered metal or a ceramic material. The material may be a coating on the shaft or may form an insert in the shaft. The corresponding bearing member may be provided with an insert (Figs. 3, 4 not shown) of similar material. Lubricating passages 13 may be provided in the bearing.
