Abstract

1364586 Track apparatus CABLES DE LYON-ALSACIENNE-GEOFFROY DELORE 9 March 1972 [12 March 1971] 11156/72 Heading B7N [Also in Division H4] In a system for inductive signalling to trains, of the type in which energized cables A, B, are arranged parallel along the track and crossed at periodic intervals to provide null signal points which are counted on the train to provide a measure of distance travelled, an additional circuit is provided utilizing said cables for communication along the track. Cable A comprises a conductor 1, insulation 2, screen 3 and insulation 4, cable B being likewise constructed, the screening being removed at the crossover points. Communication is achieved along the coaxial lines by coupling together screens 3 and 3<SP>1</SP> and connecting the screen of A1 to the screen of A2 through a capacitor 6. The screen of B1 may also be coupled via capacitor 7 to the screen of B2. A further outer conductive screen may be provided which is interrupted at the crossover points.
